RPCuk adapting to a new way of working case study

June 2020
Liz Noli Roberts

For nearly 30 years, RPCuk has offered specialised IT services to some of the largest organisations in the UK and around the world. As experts in delivering training and consulting for Oracle Primavera software, a significant amount of their work involved face-to-face contact with clients.

When lockdown restrictions were announced in March, it was clear that that the usual ways of working would have to stop. We worked closely with RPCuk to support them as they adapted to the new climate.

Online Training Courses

RPCuk had established a reputation for high-quality Oracle training at their classroom set in the idyllic West Yorkshire countryside. With all their customers now staying at home, RPCuk had to respond quickly to the change in circumstances. Using Microsoft Teams, they were able to deliver all their training safely online.

To reposition their training offer, we produced new creative and content. We combined their core value of friendly customised service with easy remote access to present a “best of both worlds” proposition. All their courses, including their own Applied Workshops, were repackaged to sit in the digital training marketplace.

This updated messaging was rolled out across social media, email, PPC search advertising from 18th March.

Free Hosting

Like many businesses, RPCuk wanted to do something practical to support their community during the peak of the pandemic. With more people working from home, they were seeing an increased interest in Oracle’s Primavera Cloud hosting which enables remote teams to work together. As a show of goodwill and solidarity with their industry, they decided to offer a free cloud hosting package for the remainder of 2020 to UK-based companies.

The offer was aimed at helping smaller businesses survive the economic crisis, by eliminating the normal hosting and service fees which may have been tough to manage under the circumstances. In addition to the hosting access, RPCuk included support to get people up and running with their new Primavera Cloud environment.

We produced supporting content for their website, email campaigns and social media channels, including a series of engaging video animations to promote the offer.

Free Digital Webinars

Lockdown conditions generated a lot of interest in remote training, and people had a lot of questions about exactly how it works. There was some misunderstanding about it, and a tendency for some to think remote training couldn’t really be as effective as traditional classroom learning.

To help dispel these misconceptions, RPCuk partnered with Oracle in creating a series of webinars designed to educate people about what to expect from digital Primavera training. The webinars were co-presented by RPCuk’s Director (and expert Primavera trainer) Peter Gable, and Oracle’s Principal Sales Consultant Rachael Griffiths. Each of the three webinars looked at the benefits of various remote training methods for Oracle software.

These free webinars were well-received. Registrations exceeded their target by 33%. It was a great opportunity to reach more leads with content that reinforced RPCuk’s expertise, as well as offering persuasive insights into the benefits of on-demand digital training for the P6 professional.

We created a campaign to drive webinar registrations with a bespoke landing page, email and social media promotion. Once the live webinars were over, we then followed up by repurposing webinar content to promote their digital training.

RESULTS:

  • Page 1 in SERP for “Oracle Primavera Remote Training”

  • 20 New Training Clients

  • 33% more registrations than expected

  • PPC campaign for online training – overall conversion rate 14.39%
